Boys Only Dance Classes

In this Class designed for boys only students will work with a male teacher on Classical and contemporary technique specific to boys as well as free movement, turns, jumps and strength building.

Boys Preparatory (Aprox Ages 6+) Sundays 12-12.30pm
Boys Acadmic (Aprox Ages 10+) Sundays 12-1pm

Tiny Tots ~ Ages 3 - 4

The ideal entrée to the rudiments of dance and ballet. These classes draw on elements of ballet, gymnastics and educational resources to introduce future ballerinas to the world of dance!

Class meets once weekly for 30min (3 year olds) or 45min (4 year olds):

3 year olds choose from: Friday 10.00am / Saturdays 8.30am / Sunday 9.00am
4 year olds choose from: Friday 10.30am / Saturday 9:00am / Sunday 9.30am

Ballet Play ~ Ages 5 - 6

Children are introduced to a traditional classical ballet environment where they are able to develop their fundamental ballet techniques. Participation in our annual performance provides many children with their first taste of the theatre. There is no exam at this level.

Class meets once weekly for 45min - Choose from:
Monday 4:30pm / Saturdays 9:45am / Sundays 10.15am

Extension Stream for dedicated and talented students: Students may enrol in 2-3 weekly lessons.

Preparatory 1 ~ Age 6 - 7

Preparatory 1 students begin to gently strengthen their muscles and focus their minds, developing improved concentration and attentiveness that hold them in good stead for future endeavours in all facets of life. Teachers use a combination of floor-barre, barre and centre exercises to teach and reinforce basic ballet technique, musicality and co-ordination. Preparatory 1 studies introduce the examination process to students. The year culminates in our annual performance.

Class meets once weekly for 60min: Mondays 5:15pm / Saturdays 11:00am / Sundays 11.00am

Extension Stream for dedicated and talented students: Students may enrol in 2-3 weekly lessons.

Preparatory 2 ~ Age 7 - 8

In Preparatory 2 students work towards greater physical strength and flexibility whilst further developing their concentration span, memory and mental focus. We continue to work on musicality, posture, alignment, elevation in jumping and combining steps into simple choreographic phrases. This level lays the foundations for success in higher classes.

Class meets twice weekly for 60min: Mondays 4.30pm and Saturdays 12.00pm

Extension Stream: Extra classes available for dedicated and talented students, please contact us.

Preparatory 3 ~ Age 8 - 9

This is the highest level for Preparatory students and sees them consolidating the skills and techniques acquired through Preparatory 1 and 2.  Upon completion of Preparatory 3, students will have attained noticeably higher levels of physical strength and flexibility, can demonstrate a greater awareness of musicality, posture, alignment, elevation in jumping, and are able to execute mid-level choreographic sequences.

Class meets twice weekly for 90 minutes: Mondays 5:30pm and Saturdays 9.00am.

Extension Stream: Extra classes available for dedicated and talented students, please contact us.

Children's Training Program ~ Ages 9 or 10 through 18.

In Level 1, students embark on an exciting program of thrice-weekly classical ballet lessons supported by a range of complimentary tuition. This program is taught by highly qualified and committed teachers and in turn attracts focused and talented students who receive a specialised education in classical dance and allied subjects. Opportunities abound for dedicated students – guest performances, festivals, competitions and films are just some of the exciting events our students have been a part of. Preparatory training is highly recommended prior to entering Level 1. It may be possible in some circumstances for an older child to enter Level 1 without prior training if they are willing to take supplementary preparatory work and this decision is made at the discretion of the Director. We are able to customize each students’ program to ensure the most comfortable and successful transition from other syllabi. Class meet three days per week. Extra days can be arranged for students wishing to progress more quickly. Eisteddfod lessons may be recommended for dedicated and talented students. In the upper levels, we offer two pathways depending on individual student’s goals – either continuation of our excellent after-school program or entry to the selective pre-professional 'Steps to Success' half-day ballet program. In 2017 we announce our Extension Stream class on Sundays 1pm-3pm, open to dedicated and talented students in the Academic & Pre Professional Divisions.

Pre-Professional Program ~ Ages 11 to 18

Our pre-professional ballet program, 'Steps To Success' is designed to cater for exceptionally talented students aged from 11 to 18 years of age who are evidently at a stage where they need to dedicate a more substantial amount of time to their ballet study and would benefit greatly from a program that replaces a portion of their regular school attendance. This is the recommended pathway for vocational dance students and is an ideal way of balancing both academic and artistic commitments. For further information please click here.
